Dendritric Orange Calcite Tower

Dendritric Orange Calcite Tower

These very pituresque pieces almost look like a work of art, and you just would not believe these are natural.   They are every bit natural.

While Dendrite looks like fossilised plant matter, they are mineral formations, not plant fossils. The word Dendrite comes from the Greek word "dendron", which means tree, and describes the branched projections of a nerve cell. Dendrite forms when water rich in manganese and iron flow along tiny cracks between layers of limestone and other rock types.
