Silver Sheen Obsidian Crescent Moon

Black obsidian is formed when a volcano erupts and the lava cools very quickly.
 
Silver sheen is created by small inclusions of water vapor bubbles trapped inside the black volcanic glass. The bubbles reflect back the light as a metallic silver or in some cases, gold - How amazing is nature!?
 
Obsidian is found near volcanoes in locations which have undergone rhyolitic eruptions. These are countries such as Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Australia, Canada, Chile, Georgia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Greece, Guatemala, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Scotland, The Canary Islands, Turkey and the United States of America.
